First of all, any electric fireplace always looks best when viewed from straight on. Ours is no different in that regard. However, our flames do look significantly more realistic than any other electric fireplace out there, due to our technology being completely different. With our fireplace you actually have a wider viewing angle, because the surface that we project the flames onto goes in front of the logs and therefore is viewable even from 45° offset on either side.
With other fireplaces you’re looking at a panel behind the logs which has an even more limited viewing angle, as you will not be able to see through solid sheet metal or mantle to see the fire behind the logs. Our fireplace has a wider viewing angle because of our projection technology, but it is true that it looks best from straight on, and that is the preferred viewing angle for the best effect. That’s not to say that it looks bad from other angles but it does look best when viewed straight on.
At the end of the day, with our fireplace you’re going to get something that looks as close to the real thing without actually setting anything on fire.
