There are two important dimensions to keep in mind with the insert. The first is the physical size of the unit and the second is the viewable area. For instance, the technology that makes the holographic fire effect is hidden in the top 10” in of the unit. This part is not meant to be visible, and can be framed or trimmed over. The insert itself is 28” in wide by 32” in tall and 12” in deep, with a viewable area of 28” in wide by 22” in tall.
Warning: Do not do anything custom until you physically have our insert on hand. That way there will be no surprises. You can use the dimensions we provided and those from our installation guide for guidance, but actually have the unit on hand before building anything custom.
