There are no real flames. Our fireplace is very safe because we use holographic projection technology there is no real fire in this fireplace. Instead, we use video of the fire and holographically project those flames onto the logs making it look like they are burning. The logs that we use are UL-certified which means that they are certified safe when used correctly.
As long as the fireplace is used in accordance with the instructions (i.e.: plugged directly into the wall, NO power strip, etc.) there should be very little chance of danger or risk associated with a traditional combustion fireplace when used with common sense.
