No. There is no actual fire in this fireplace, just a holographic projection using video of flames. Therefore the logs themselves do not get hot. However there is a heater in the bottom of the log set that will make some of the metal warm around the heater but certainly not to a dangerous level. Use common sense when handling the logs.
