FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Smart Home & Voice Assistant Compatibility

One of the most common questions we receive is whether MagikFlame electric fireplaces work with smart home voice assistants. Here is everything you need to know about how to control your MagikFlame, what smart home integration is currently available, and what may be coming in the future.

Does MagikFlame Work with Voice Assistants?

🔶
Not yet available. MagikFlame electric fireplaces do not currently integrate with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Google Assistant, or Apple HomeKit. However, this is a feature we have heard significant interest in, and it may be added in a future update.

This means you cannot currently use voice commands to turn your fireplace on or off, change flame settings, or adjust the heater through a smart speaker or voice assistant device.

The good news? MagikFlame already offers multiple convenient ways to control your fireplace — no voice commands needed.

How Do You Control a MagikFlame Fireplace?

🖥
BUILT-IN TOUCHSCREEN
Full-color display built into every unit. Browse 30 flame settings, adjust heater temp, set timers, control sound effects.

📱
iOS APP
Free MagikFlame app for iPhone & iPad. Full control from your couch — flames, heater, sound, and timer.
iOS Only

Built-In Touchscreen Display. Every MagikFlame fireplace includes a full-color touchscreen built directly into the unit. From this screen you can browse and select from 30 flame settings, adjust the heater temperature, set a sleep timer, and control the crackling log sound effects. No remote control or phone required — everything is right at your fingertips.

MagikFlame iOS App. For added convenience, MagikFlame offers a free iOS app that lets you control your fireplace from your iPhone or iPad. The app connects directly to your fireplace and gives you the same controls available on the built-in touchscreen — flame selection, heater temperature, sound, and timer — all from the comfort of your couch.

Android App. An Android app is not currently available. If you use an Android device, you can control your MagikFlame using the built-in touchscreen on the unit itself.

Can I Use a Smart Plug or Smart Switch?

Some customers ask about using a third-party smart plug or smart switch to turn the fireplace on and off with a voice assistant. We recommend contacting our support team before attempting this, as there are important electrical safety considerations:

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE

The MagikFlame fireplace uses two power cords. Understanding what each cord powers is important for safe operation:

BOTTOM CORD — HEATER
Powers the 1,500-watt infrared heater. We recommend plugging directly into a wall outlet. We do not recommend using a smart plug, power strip, or intermediary device.
110V · 12.5A · ~5,200 BTU
TOP CORD — ELECTRONICS
Powers the flame display, touchscreen, and speakers. Lower power draw, but a smart plug may only power-cycle without resuming your previous settings.
Lower amperage · Display + Audio

For the safest and best experience, we recommend using the built-in touchscreen or the iOS app to control your MagikFlame.

Will Smart Home Integration Be Added in the Future?

Smart home voice assistant compatibility is a feature we have heard significant interest in. While we cannot confirm a specific timeline, we know it is something many of our customers want, and it remains a consideration for future product updates.
